with an update on the cleanup

efforts. And some traffic moving

on behind you, Hayley. Yeah.

Marlon. Christine this is one of

country. But right now, it is

definitely one of the most

painful. So, 5:00 traffic. We're

right here at big Rock drive,

where this rockslide was last

people that are first in line to

go through this area have been

waiting for 45 minutes. We'll

take you up to Sky Fox to give

you kind of an aerial view of

this crazy congestion, one of

several rockslides that we've

had in the area over just the

last few days. Now, our buddy Ed

Laskas is on his way here, and

backed up all the way to Sunset

Boulevard. Avoid this area at

all costs if you can help it, it

will go down to one lane. When

you get to Tuna Canyon Road,

which is about a mile south of

where we are right now. So we're

at big Rock drive right here on

the PCH. So the backup, it took

me probably an hour and 15

minutes in the middle of the

afternoon just to get through.

Of course, you can't drive on

the median, so it is quite a

headache taking you back on the

ground. We've been here for the

entire afternoon and several

times we've seen rocks just come

crashing down the hillside. It

is absolutely a terrifying

thought. Just to even think

about when you see those warning

signs driving by. And then when

it actually happens, it's sheer

panic and can be extremely

dangerous down to one

lane here on the PCH at big Rock

drive. Caltrans crews are

working as fast and as safely as

but they have no idea when that

will be, whether it's a couple

of days or weeks. The closure

again starts about a mile south

at Tuna Canyon, and this is one

the area in the past few days.

Thanks to all the rain, we've

had a couple more. One is at the

Pacific Palisades on the way

here, and one at State Road 27.

You can imagine the congestion,

especially early this morning

when the entire thing was shut

down. We talked to Caltrans

earlier trying to figure out

doing to fix this as soon as

possible. In some areas, we have

steel mesh netting. Um, but

they're not installed everywhere

. And so when we determined that

it's necessary, we install those

, um, and those are usually take

some time. Sometimes it takes a

large crane, sometimes it takes

a helicopter to get those high

up on the hillsides to make it

to quick map dot dot dot ca.gov.
