Kelly Clarkson is bringing her

show back to Fox 26 for a fifth

season. And we've got backstage,

Dave here from Backstage Dot,

welcome. You got to speak with

Kelly, and I know she's one of

your favorites. I love Kelly

Clarkson. Can I tell you a quick

story before we talk to. When I

was in Dallas on the radio,

every day I'm there on Saturdays

now, weekly with the backstage

experience. But when I was there

every day, Kelly was going

through American Idol. She used

to call me on the request line

and give me updates. And I've

known her and every time I get

to talk with her on a movie

project, I walk in the room.

She's like, Oh my gosh, I

remember you. I finally said,

Kelly, you don't need to call

the request line anymore. I'll

give you the hotline number.

She's big time now. She's got a

talk show that airs here on Fox

26 at 3 p.m. weekdays. And I had

a chance to catch up with her

ahead of the season five

premiere. Coming up this Monday,

ladies and gentlemen, Kelly

Clarkson. Full disclosure years

ago in North Texas, there was a

person on a singing competition

and she would call a DJ at 106.1

good to see you again. It's me.

Nice to see you, too. Yeah, I

still tell that story and I and

I remember I you ended up

winning Spoiler alert. That was

years ago. But I tell that story

and I said to you years ago, I

said, Kelly, you don't need to

call the request line. I'm going

to give you the hotline number.

Now and you can call me on

Kiss-FM and give me updates on

everything going on in that

world. So over the years I've

projects and now we get to talk

about season five of the Kelly

Clarkson Show. Round of applause

. Congratulations. How excited

are you? I I'm pretty stoked,

man. I'm so happy that this move

happened and I'm happy that it

happened. And I actually love

it. I didn't go, oh, wait, that

was poor decision. So I'm I'm

very I don't know, like on a

personal note, just never been

happier. And business wise, like

coolest thing ever to be able to

move you know season five and

have a fresh start for your show

and you know, in a sort of way.

And then also be at 30 Rock.

That's incredible. So yeah, I'm

pretty much on cloud nine right

now. Dave So I'm doing all right

. Yeah. You know, I should point

out the move from LA to New York

and you're in a famous studio

there at 30 Rock six A For those

that remember The Dave Letterman

Show, he worked in that studio.

I've done the tour at NBC many

times and I've been in that in

that room. And I'm like, my girl

is doing her show. All right.

coming up. Season five. Please

tell me you're doing the good

neighbor. You're doing the

duets, the band, you all has to

be back with. You I want to know

everything. Yeah, all of that is

happening. Definitely. We're

doing songs and stories still as

well because it's just it seems

to be something people really

dig. Like I think that's, you

know, it's like to separate

yourself out in day daytime. I

think the musical element

definitely gives us a little bit

of an edge. And especially with

artists coming, you know, or

actors honestly coming in and

out and singing with us and

songs and stories. So I'm very

excited to announce. Alanis

Morissette is our first one, and

she's like my favorite, so I'm

very excited and we have just a

bunch of people from the

building as well. Like we're

trying to, you know, solidify to

everybody like, Hey, our show is

moved. We're now based in New

York City. Come hang out with

us. There's like a audience of

200 people, which is incredible

. We haven't been able been able

to do that in our studio yet.

And in LA, we were never able to

do that. So and then just being

at 30 Rock, having all these,

you know, personalities that

I've known for over 20 years,

you know, working with and being

interviewed by, and then they're

now like our neighbors and come

on our show. And it's just very

cool. It's a it's a very good

vibe. All right. Stick around.
